The Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course will reopen to the public on Apr. 26 after a seven-year hiatus. The second oldest course in the state of Illinois has been closed since September 2018. It will be reopened featuring 9-holes, mostly using the historic holes from the original course that opened in 1897.
“We invite the community to join us as we open our reconfigured course,” said U.S. Army Garrison Rock Island Arsenal commander, Col. William J. Parker, III. “We look forward to having one more community activity available to not only to those that work on the Arsenal, but also our surrounding community in the Quad Cities.”
The course has annual passes available to the general public at $800 for an individual and $1,450 for families. Fees for individual 9-holes are $17. Carts are available for another $10 for the 9-holes. Additional rates are available for Service Members and civilian team members that work on the island.
Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course is operating out of Building 60 at the corner of North Avenue and Gillespie Street. Tee times can be made up to one week in advance by calling (309) 782-4014. Reservations can be made starting Apr. 19. More information can be found at https://rockisland.armymwr.com/programs/rock-island-golf-course.
